Okay, I know.....

we live in Wisconsin, but come on! -6 degrees??? BRRRRR. But yes, we still ran this morning. 9.5 miles. I am sure everyone in their cars thought we were nuts. After the first two miles when the blood got bumping, it wasn't too bad. Again, it isn't the cold, it is the snow.

Off to our Christmas party!

Hiatt, Happiness, Humbling

I just returned from a 5.7 mile run with Judy. The snow continues to make running a humbling experience. It is hard to have patience and just run slow. As wise Judy says - you just have to take it easy!

Jim and I were in Wausau last night at a concert with John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, and Guy Clark. They were great! John Hiatt's encore song was the song we danced to for our first dance at our wedding - "Have a Little Faith".

So, Jim and I experienced a lot of happiness by spending some time together, listening to music we love and spending time with friends!

Jack Frost nipping....

Ah, actually since it was -3 degrees it was more like Arnold Artic Air biting at our faces! Although at the end of the run we all looked like Jack and Jackie Frost with all the ice frozen on our faces and eye lashes! We ran a different route to avoid sidewalks that are not shoveled. It went well despite the cold and snow!

Snow! Snow! (ugh) Snow!

Well, it finally snowed last night. Our blissful snow-free winter has finally ended. Now time for slipping and sliding! Of course as my friend Judy says "This means we have a good reason to run slow!" Judy is always thinking on the positive side!

Since Julianne and I were the only ones scheduled to run early, we decided to run later! We met at Ginny's for the usual backwards stampede route. Judy joined us too. A slower run, but hard because it was like running in sand.

I suppose my running partners tomorrow morning will be looking to me to provide a sidewalk free run (to avoid those who don't take their responsibility to shovel snow very seriously - THE RUNNER'S CURSE BE ON THEM!). So on to my favorite mapping site.

Lastly, Jim is just heading out on his first run of his marathon training program! Of course as he was leaving he said - "This may be my last marathon training run and my first half marathon training run". Jim always likes to have a safety net nearby!
